Class voice lessons are open to any singer needing a refresher on good vocal technique and to beginners interested in an introduction to singing. There are usually five students in each class.  Past classes have included members of many community and church choirs, children, teenagers, aging voices, choral conductors, and musicians from other disciplines.


Classes cover the basics of good voice technique: breathing, support, posture, resonance, diction, and vocal health. The goal is a free and healthy singing voice. The class setting is an opportunity to work individually with the teacher and accompanist in a supportive and fun atmosphere.

SCHEDULE  2017  The four ninety-minute classes run from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. on summer evenings.

Session 1:  May Tuesdays (May 2, 9, 16, 23)–FULL

Session 2:  June Tuesdays (June 6, 13, 20, 27)–FULL

Session 3:  June Wednesdays (June 7, 14, 21, 28)–FULL

Session 4.  July/Aug Tuesdays (July 18, 25, Aug 1, 8)–FULL

Session 5:  July/Aug Wednesdays (July 19, 26, Aug 2, 9)–FULL

Session 6:  July/Aug Thursdays (July 20, 27, Aug 3, 10)–FULL


The four ninety-minute classes run from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. on summer evenings and cost $180 for the course.  Classes are scheduled from May through August.


If you have to miss a session, I will hold a makeup session for 30 minutes prior to the following session.

Classes can be scheduled at the convenience of a group of 5 or more; past examples are the Duke Memorial Methodist Choir, ladies of St. Thomas More, a group from Women’s Voices Chorus, and the a cappella group Stella.
